As you may know on June 15, 1983, I met Lindy Morrison for the first time ~ Chad’s Tree were supporting The Go-Betweens at The Red Parrot and then onto the Apollo Room / Inglewood Hotel.  Now, 42 years later we’ve co-written and are releasing an album together with our band of talented musician friends ~ SnarskiCircusLindyBand ~ featuring ‘Evil’ Graham Lee, Dan Kelly & Shane O’Mara.

“what’s said and what’s left unsaid” contains 5 new songs as well as 5 songs from our previously released mini-albums and is due for release on vinyl, CD and streaming services in late September. Tour dates from October onwards ~ Adelaide (afternoon & evening shows) and Melbourne already on sale.

We also have an array of guests singing and providing various instrumentation on the album including Amanda Brown [The Go-Betweens], Romy Vager [RVG], Jack Howard[Hunters & Collectors], Adam Hutterer [The Disappointments], Rebecca Barnard & Jodie Phillis.

First glimpse, is the single “You’re So Adorable” with guest lead vocals provided by French-Australian art pop indie enfant prodige Lili Alaska ~ out today.

The album is also available to pre-order from the Shop and Bandcamp from today.

Always a joy to work and play with SCLB.

I’m looking forward to singing some Leonard Cohen songs in August with a crew of fine Sydney musicians. A bit anxious too I guess. We're performing in BendigoSt Kilda and West Gippsland.

These things I remember ~

Singing Leonard songs to the little kids when I worked as a child care assistant in Moore Park way back when, feeling uncomfortable watching LC being interviewed by Mike Walsh on the midday show, seeing him perform at the Sydney Entertainment Centre on that tour in 1985,  I’m not sure why but the encore of “The Tennessee Waltz” stayed with me for a long, long time. Down the track I sang “Dance Me To The End Of Love” at Helen and Steve’s wedding, then supported LC with The Blackeyed Susans in 2009 and wrote a bit about that day in my book, …so it’s all coming full circle in a tangled up way.

More news to come next time.
