I KNOW I KNOW ~ the opening routine kicks into full stride & muscle, as Lindy Morrison’s thoroughbred drums propel “I don’t think I’ll ever sleep with you again” as Snarski with acrobatic aplomb alights, stands on the saddle, arms outreached in perfect balance, declaiming vocals, chiming guitar, as astro fuzz burns bright, all rockin’ & reeling ... the troupe then backflip in exquisite synch into a '66 Kinks~y romp, O’Mara definitely with mascara in exotic climes, [is that a trombone we hear?] ... a familiar nostalgic chord leads us to act 3, an ode of beauty, of slow motion muse, another Lindy lyric and Amanda Brown’s heartbreak violins, in lulling duet at songs close ... we fall softly into act 4, the tempo quickens, music box 12~string guitar with dancing pedal steel, a whimsical melody with Dan Kelly’s harmony stylings inflecting breezy delight ... the 5th & penultimate presentation features ‘Evil’ Graham Lee’s debut in the vocal spotlight, a lyric focussing on the post-Covid struggle, unable to leave the couch, or house for that matter ... then we are bidden farewell with an alluring instrumental, a noir stroll at crepuscule "Wild Bluebells" ... the curtain closes.
Lindy is still in the UK, playing shows and visiting musician pals and familiar places.
Here she is outside of the Richmond Theatre ... the interior was used for the front cover band shot of The Go-Betweens “Spring Hill Fair”.
LINDY promises to be back for our show at the Camelot Lounge, Marrickville MAY 31 for the launch of I KNOW I KNOW, not long now. Tickets available 🎫 here.
Before all this unfolds I’m heading to Bellwether Wines as part of the Penola Coonawarra Arts Festival in SOLO mode, something I haven’t done for a while.
Then I’m joining a cast of musician pals and acquaintances to celebrate Bob Dylan’s birthday ~ singing at The Palais no less, with guests aplenty.
MAY is looking busy, see you somewhere… sometime.
