After all the typo corrections and last minute track-list changes, the album is due to drop into my lap a couple of days before the Melbourne launch at MEMO.

It’s been a sweet experience, add to that a healthy dash of anxiety and a few micro~meltdowns and you’d be close to how the whole recording process felt.

Greatly appreciate all the input from these fine musician friends, humbling too.

The double A single of Elena and My Friend Too [featuring Romy Vager] is now available on all streaming platforms.

Searching For The Heart Of It All

I wanted Searching For The Heart Of It All to be more like a playlist, a compilation … like one of those early Tarantino soundtracks where each song is a sonic surprise.

To achieve the variety, I had to cast the net far and wide, asking my musician friends and colleagues to contribute not only instrumentally but vocally, hence the extended list of guest singers - Romy Vager (RVG), Gareth Liddiard (TFS), Peter Milton Walsh (The Apartments), Rebecca Barnard (Rebecca’s Empire) and Kelly Day (The Broads).

The musicians - my So-Called Friends, include ‘Evil’ Graham Lee [The Triffids], Jack Howard [Hunters and Collectors], Shane Reilly [Lost Ragas], Kiernan Box [Augie March], Shane O’Mara [guitar maestro to many] and rhythm section Ben Wiesner and Rosie Westbrook. They all bring a certain gravitas to the songs, they lift them up and carry them to a place far, far away … exceeding all my musical expectations.

Don’t forget to grab tickets 🎫 for the Melbourne launch. Gareth’s overseas but if the stars align everyone else will be there.

See you soon.
